Job Summary
The UIT Office of Software Licensing ( OSL ) negotiates, procures, and distributes software licenses to University of Utah students, faculty, and staff.
The person in this position will be the initial point of contact for inquiries and service requests about OSL . This position manages OSL website content and the online software store .
The coordinator must be able to work independently and with a team and possess strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills. General duties include writing and editing instruction materials, organizing electronic files and directories, information gathering and analysis, and assisting other staff.
Responsibilities
Duties include:
Answering licensing questionsTroubleshooting software license and installation issuesUsing a content management system to maintain and publish content to the OSL websiteManaging products and services in the online software storeCustomer communicationsObtaining software installation files and license keys from vendorsBecome familiar with software licensing terms and conditions.Advise staff, students, and faculty regarding policies.Coordinate technical information with campus help desk staff.Assist with maintaining department documentation.Participate in team decisions for new software offerings.Monitor processes and provide recommendations for improvement.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
