About Software Development Manager

Job Description

As a Manager, you will apply your technical and organizational skills to solve delivery, support, and operational optimizations while driving execution of roadmap commitments. You will work with a variety of technical, functional, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of API catalog advancements. By engaging with product and engineering leaders across the organization, you will influence product strategy, define technology roadmaps, align timelines, and resolve conflicts.

You have solid communication skills. You can clearly explain complex technical concepts.

You have clear operational expectations from the system, and engineers, and can push team culture to form the foundation for operational excellence in the organization.

You have solid understanding of Cloud, SaaS, and virtualization concepts and performance concerns.

You have experience defining and monitoring system’s quality measures, SLO, and SLA.

You have experience in improving reliability, scalability and availability of APIs.

You care about creating usable, useful software that solves real problems and brings delight to users.

You work well with everyone and can lead a conversation with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.

You are comfortable with ambiguity.

You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the health of API services in your span.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience with cloud technologies

Minimum 3 years of experience managing software engineering teams, including large-scale organizations.

Minimum 3 years of experience in designing, delivering, and operating large-scale distributed systems.

Prior experience in owning and managing SaaS/IaaS services.

Demonstrated success in leading small- to medium-scale cross-organizational initiatives.

Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and achieving top level service quality metrics.

Strong background in software engineering, including web service technologies such as APIs, REST, etc.

Proficiency with DevOps principles and tools, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure automation, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

US: Hiring Range: from $84,800 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
