As a Software Asset Manager, you will manage the software asset management tool and the processes that oversee every aspect of software management. As software requests come through, you will handle the review and approval process. Your expertise and guidance will support IT leadership in proper asset assignment as employees move through hire, transfer, and termination. Maintaining license compliance and audit readiness are important as you monitor the lifecycle stages of software and assets.
What you’ll do
Interpret Premera's software license agreements and identify rules, obligations, and product metrics to ensure compliance with all software licenses agreements and software usage
Translate technical data elements to capture license compliance
Verify software deployment data by combination of discussions with the line of business owners and leveraging of software discovery tools (e.g. ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune, identifying under-deployments for potential cost savings and over-deployments that require the acquisition of additional rights)
Assist business line staff in monitoring and ensuring software contract compliance and performance between departments and vendors
Work with team leadership, business groups, and accounting staff to analyze and resolve complex issues associated with software licensing rights
Ensure technical staff can deploy software
Monitor software maintenance renewal requirements, coordinating with software owners on operational requirements
Gather requirements and develop reports for internal customers
Facilitate and participate in discussions between the vendor and appropriate System and/or customer resources, as part of the vendor scorecard process
Develop, implement, and refine software asset management policies, processes, and procedures
Contribute to software process improvements and automation
Execute Policy and Process in support of IT Asset Management (ITAM) program goals; promote the ITAM program (ServiceNow) and assist in setting program goals
Take an active role in achieving operational effectiveness
Provide technical expertise and support for projects and audits
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or 4 years applicable experience (required)
4 years of experience in a software audit or software consulting role (required)
1 year of influencing decisions on technology and process (required)
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Software Asset Management (strongly preferred)
Experience with ServiceNow SAM module (preferred)
ITIL, CSAM, CISA, and/or CISSP certifications (preferred)
Knowledge of complex vendor software contracts, licensing terminology, and software licensing rights
Experience in conducting software vendor audits and negotiations
Ability to analyze software discovery data and configure/create discovery tools and scripts
Proven results in software cost avoidance and savings
Advanced Excel skills

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Salary Range:
$70,100.00 - $119,200.00
National Plus Salary Range:
$79,900.00 - $135,800.00
*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska .
