JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties The incumbent is assigned to the DomiciliaryResidential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (DRRTP). This position willmainly focus on psychotherapy group facilitation. Supervision availablefor candidates pursuing LCSW in need of clinical hours for licensure.Provides treatment services to patients experiencing a wide range ofboth chronic and acute mental health conditions that are impacted by theabuse of alcohol and/or drugs, including psychosocial problems impactingthe discharge planning process. Responsible for meeting the complexneeds of these veterans through thorough psychosocial assessment andevaluation; intervention, crisis management; treatment planning,individual, family, and/or group treatment; patient education; and/orinformation and referral. An unusual degree of skill in deliveringservices is required to deal with the complexity of patient needs.Independently performs case finding functions and outreach, identifyingand screening patients for psychosocial needs. Independently implementtreatment modalities, provide counseling or psychotherapy forindividuals, families and groups utilizing evidence-based treatmentmodalities whenever possible. Independently conducts psychosocialassessments. Develops treatment plans in collaboration with theveteran/family and with the interdisciplinary treatment team.Coordinates community-based services, including information and referralfor additional services from other VA programs, other governmentprograms and community agency programs. Independently identifieshigh-risk patients and provides case management services. Providescrisis intervention services, seeking to address the cause as well asthe presenting complaint, coordinates family conferences and serves asliaison to family members. Establishes and maintains effectivetherapeutic relationships with veterans and their families. Maintainscomplete, accurate, timely and confidential medical record documentationof patient information according to VA, JCAHO, and CARPpolicies/regulations. Participates on Medical Center, VISN and/orNational councils, committees and workgroups as designated. Performsother related duties as assigned.
