Description
The Manager of Vendor Managers position is for a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, past managerial prowess, great attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task with a proven record of driving business results. The MVM must be an excellent communicator, as they will be responsible for interacting and being the face of Amazon to C Suite partners and vendors, as well as working cross-functionally across Amazon divisions (e.g. supply chain, marketing, advertising, finance). The ideal candidate is passionate about coaching and building empathetic teams, someone that believes that people development is critical to group success, and a sself-starter with a passion for retail and a can-do attitude.
A successful MVM will be able to:
Act as the business strategist for assigned categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact your business (this entails owning high level and granular data end to end tied to your business, a comfort with deep diving financial metrics, and an unrelenting focus on delivering results).
Lead with empathy. The MVM role requires a high EQ and the ability to build sustaining teams. You should feel confident in your ability to prepare your team for success at Amazon.
Solicit and distribute feedback with their team. The MVM should strive for self-awareness and should be able to confidently share growth opportunities to drive team development.
Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments.
Be proactive - the MVM should be able to demonstrate a history of coming to leadership with solutions to problems.
Be customer obsessed. The MVM should be able to confidently use customer knowledge to advocate for and drive delivery of site features that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
Manage vendor relationships. The MVM should be an excellent negotiator - with the goal of mutually beneficial outcomes with our partners. They should be an experienced communicator with C Suite executives and be able to navigate challenging conversations.
Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch of new features, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies
Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting tight deadlines
Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of team management experience
5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
Experience at a senior level in the fashion industry ideally in an e-commerce, retail, key account management or consulting role
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using data to influence business decisions
Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $208,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
