This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit. To further BlueOrigin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space,we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew andcargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface.As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will contributeto the definition and development of spacecraft thermal control systems. Youshould be comfortable working in a fast-paced and often uncertainenvironment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstratingpersonal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. Youwill work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of theHuman Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system thatwill return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyondthe bounds of Earth. Be a technical leader of an established but growingThermal team of Engineers and Analysts. You will be ultimately responsible fordelivering successful thermal hardware backed up by analysis and test.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadershipskills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe humanspaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Interface seamlessly across the National TeamLead NASA Thermal collaboration effortPrepare and present at major gated reviews including design reviews,readiness reviews, etc.Act as spacecraft thermal control subject matter expert on behalf of theThermal Manager in decision boards and working sessionsEnsure the work being performed by the team adequately responds to missionrequirementsProvide mentorship and training to early career or new-to-Blue Engineers
Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering8 years relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experienceProven technical team leadership skillsSolid understanding of thermal fundamentals in spacecraft environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with common spacecraft thermal hardwareAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships,and contribute to a culture of inclusion.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current GreenCard holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or grantedasylum
