DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:As the Site IT Support (SIS) Specialist is seen as an individual contributor within their team. You are competent at managing their time, have collaboration skills. You do not manage other individuals but are requiring less management. The decisions they make could affect immediate team/specific area of support but could also affect the larger team. As an individual contributor you are considered a member of a group or team and expected to deliver results with less direction and supervision. You will work on larger tasks which could be isolated or involve collaboration with a larger group. Your contribution is measured by their ability to complete the work assigned to them, as well as the success of team. You are expected to develop skills to assist entry level team members to facilitate personal and technical growth. The impact of their contribution is to the efforts they are involved with could affect themselves, their immediate team or their organization.
Key Responsibilities* Support up to 300 IT end-users, no direct reports* Support projects and initiatives from both corporate and SBU global IT teams* Knowledge of company and internal processes* Onsite Technology Support provides in-person assistance to employee end-users.* Respond to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support.* Provide support to end-users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technicalproblems.* Maintain and troubleshoot a range of user problems including PC hardware/software/LANand voice network* Diagnose problem source through discussions with users and coordinating with internal ITorganization support and operations groups and with vendors to resolve problems* Acquire, installing, and upgrading PC components and software and planning for/responding toservice outages and other problems.* Train users on use of new technology and software.* Perform proactive monitoring of PPG's computer systems through appropriate tools.* Document, tracks, and monitors problems to ensure resolutions.* Participate in various IT projects working with internal and external teams.
Qualifications* 4 years of experience in Site IT Support role. Minimal management oversight needed.* A 4-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.* Interaction specifically listening, providing guidance,* Quickly resolve technical problems, evaluate alternative approachesand to recommend the most feasible and economical solutions.* Follow company standards and apply policies.* Ability to document operations procedures.* Availability to work rotating shifts and holidays.* A Fluency in English* A driving license (B)
