Job Summary:
Responsible for general oversight of daily operations of multiple mobile andfixed commercial asphalt production plants; assists with productionplanning, budgeting, and ensuring quality and production targets are met.
Main Responsibilities:
Embrace the Company's safety atmosphere, actively support all safetyinitiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by theSafety Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision,and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, andother established policiesAssist with establishing safety, quality and efficiency standards forproduction operationsMonitor operations to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory andproduction targets are met, including compliance with MSHA, OSHA, DEQ,EPA and similar industry regulationsMaintain effective relationships and work with customers, suppliers, localcommunities, local, state and federal governments, and Company business groupsCoordinate hiring, training, and development of asphalt production staffAssist with development of budgets and forecasts; handle productionschedules to meet plans for assigned sitesReview and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, andoperational practices and recommend improvements to eliminate operatingproblems and improve product quality and production efficiencyUse established Key Performance Indicators to garner production resultsMonitor equipment maintenance practices and assist with maintenance planningto improve plant up-timeWork with the sales, construction operations, and quality control teams toestablish production schedules to meet internal and external customer needs
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, similar field,and/or equivalent combination of education and experienceCurrent MSHA Certification and/or ability to obtain may be required for somerolesValid drivers' license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle recordrequired
Skills:
5+ years of practical experience with asphalt, ready mix, emulsion,and/or similar production processesConsistent record of leading, managing, and developing employeesDiscernment, including experience/ability reading, interpreting, andanalyzing financial statementsAbility to analyze information, draw conclusions, and recommend solutionsAbility to communicate expertly and optimally to individuals at all levels ofthe organizationAbility to plan, problem-so ve, and work effectively to meet targetsConsistent record of maintaining a safe work cultureAdept computer skills using MS Office, plant production software, andsimilar programs
