Overall supervision of the shipping department and receiving team. Duties include directing the team activities receiving/handling/shipping stock, hiring & training employees, assigning duties, developing work procedures, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, and implementing record-keeping procedures with the direction of the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
Continuously strives to have same day orders metered and staged for pickup by mid-morning each workday
Assists with order picking, packing, and shipping; performing regular quality audits to ensure accuracy of outgoing shipments
Investigates and resolves all order picking, packing, and shipping errors and reports findings to the Operations Manager
Warehouse Clerk training
Directs staging and loading of all outbound freight shipping via common carrier and LTL carriers
Ensures shipments are sent on proper carriers as directed by the Fulfillment and Logistics Supervisor and/or picking sheets
Updates dashboard allowing visibility of all sales orders
Create and manage shipping batches daily
Follow cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Processes)
Assign new products to a primary bin location and maintain proper product location and inventory
Inspect products at time of delivery, run receipt records and verify items received match items that were ordered. In both quality and quantity
Maintains consistent workflow within receiving and shipping departments
Oversee daily checks of forklifts, trucks, and scissor lifts
Work with Customer Service to ensure all return authorizations are complete
Oversee the Safety plans and manage the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse
Utilize progressive techniques to counsel subordinates regarding performance
Any other tasks assigned
Qualifications
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Motivated self-starter, flexible, sense of urgency.
Must be attentive to details and able to follow directions.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
2 years of work experience is preferred
Forklift Certified.
Able to multitask.
