The FCIM Facility provides users with state of-the-art technologies in order to provide cutting-edge services to a broad array of investigators, both inside and outside of UK. Enthusiastic candidates can contact the facility directors Jamie Sturgill, PhD at [email protected] or Siva Gandhapudi, PhD at [email protected] for questions.Required Skills:• Team player with an advanced understanding of flow cytometry and single cell sorting.• Hands on experience in independently operating and maintaining cell sorters. Experience with BD sorters is a plus.• Hands on experience in operating analytical flow cytometers.• Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control of flow cytometers and cell sorters.• Candidate must ensure the completion of sample analysis/sorting to ensure FCIM can complete research requests in a timely fashion without sacrificing scientific integrity.Assist core clientele in the acquisition and analysis of flow cytometry samples. Additional desirable skills:• Experience working under BSL-2 environment.• Experience with spectral cytometry and sorting.• Experience in flow data analysis and interpretation using software packages such as FlowJo.• Experience in lab oversight to maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure safety of staff and compliance with all university, state, and federal regulations.• Ability to effectively train and communicate with users on the use of flow cytometry analyzers, cell sorters, and data analysis/interpretation.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesMS Windows, Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
