POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex systems necessary for the successful operation of our organization. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. Troubleshoots system performance issues and creates and helps maintains a disaster recovery plan.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, enhance and implement new and existing internal information systems.Manages the maintenance of the technology environment used by the business.Monitor and maintain the performance, reliability, and security of systems.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to systems and infrastructure.Work independently and with teams to develop and implement IT solutions.Develop and maintain documentation for systems and processes.Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to recommend and implement best practices.Install and relocate VolCorp Network equipment, personal computers and related equipment. Maintaining a complete list of all computer equipment, serial numbers and physical location of equipment.Provide technical support for IT systems and networks.Storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage componentsManages and maintains virtual technology and its systems.Provide budgetary information to supervisor as needed.
RELATED DUTIES:Manages Storage Area Network (SAN) and associated components.Maintain contact with software vendors to research operating problems and discuss new applications.?Adhere to company and governmental policies and regulations, including those related to Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Plan compliance.Perform other related duties and special projects as requested.Maintain storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocation, and change management.Manages data restore and disaster recovery.Responsible for coordinating and providing documentation and procedures for disaster recovery testing.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology or related area or equivalent years of directly related experience.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:Active Directory Configuration and Support, Microsoft Azure AD, Microsoft Windows and Windows Server Support, O365 Support.Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support.Experience with VMware virtualization technologies such as vCenter, SRM, NSX-T, Horizon VDI.Knowledge in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.Familiarity with network protocols and security principles.Storage Area Network (SAN) and associated components.Technical knowledge of system back-up and recovery proceduresAbility to interact effectively with all user levels, internal and external, via telephone or onsite
Ability to troubleshoot problems and effectively resolve user questionsEffective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsMust be detail-oriented and self-motivated
