GCyber is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support a mission critical program to enable the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) cloud-based intelligence sharing and collaboration capabilities across its mission partners. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of AWS and Linux-based systems and servers. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency and an in-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and related technologies.

　　This position is full time onsite in Arlington, VA. Given the unique mission and classified nature of the work, there is no opportunity for hybrid or remote work arrangements. 

　　As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

　　Provide senior-level guidance and engineering for AWS-based solutions in a DoD SAP environment.

　　Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure and services to meet security, compliance, and operational requirements.

　　Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure secure integration of AWS solutions with other systems and technologies.

　　Design, implement, and manage Linux-based systems and servers to meet the DoD's operational requirements.

　　Ensure systems comply with DoD security and operational policies and regulations.

　　Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.

　　Conduct system performance tuning, hardware upgrades, capacity planning, and resource optimization as required.

　　Act as a senior problem resolution resource, diagnosing and resolving complex system operational issues.

　　Develop and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency; must be proficient in Bash.

　　Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and service records.

　　Participate in security audits and implement remediation strategies.

　　Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and administrators and participate in continuous learning activities to stay updated with industry trends and technologies.

　　Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

　　Active DoD Top Secret/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI Poly.  

　　Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

　　DoD 8570 IAT II (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CND)

　　Minimum of 10 years of experience including specialized experience in Linux system administration and engineering, preferably in support of DoD or IC

　　Extensive knowledge of AWS technologies and services, including VPC, EC2, and S3

　　Proficient with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

　　Proficiency in Linux internals, command-line utilities, and system management tools.

　　Demonstrated experience with scripting and automation tools (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.).

　　Strong knowledge of system and network security, especially in DoD environments.

　　Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work under tight deadlines, and strong attention to detail.

　　Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
