Summary This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, located in Rockville, Maryland. Responsibilities The incumbent serves as a Public Health Analyst that supports the programs of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. The incumbent plans and carries out the successive steps in public health fact-finding and analysis utilizing appropriate policies and administrative concepts. The incumbent provides prepares directives, memoranda, policy statements, and programs/legislative proposals to introduce new public health initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: GS-09: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Utilizing qualitative and/or quantitative analytical techniques to identify and/or resolve public health issues; Conducting interviews to obtain information regarding organizational missions, functions and/or work procedures; Planning and/or carrying out public health projects within the organization; Developing public health procedures and/or guidelines that supplement established administrative regulations or program guidance. OR two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree; or a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.
