Overview
Axient is seeking Senior-Level Strategy and Communications Analysts to join our team working with the Innovation & Modernization (I&M) office (formerly Rapid Reaction Technology Office [RRTO]) of the OSD (Office of the Secretary of Defense) in Washington DC on Strategic Planning Support. A current Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities
The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) I&M creates accelerated pathways for new ideas to become Joint capabilities through innovation and transformation of ideas to defense programs of record. The Office delivers innovative, leap-ahead capabilities to the Joint Force through prototypes and demonstrations that accelerate, deliver, and transition Joint capabilities. I&M program strength is the ability to discover new ideas for emerging technologies and capabilities, turn them into executable programs, and accelerate capability to the warfighter.
I&M is a division within Prototypes and Experiments (P&E). The goal and focus of I&M are producing risk-reducing prototypes designed to address Combatant Command (CCMD) threats and/or prototypes and demonstrations coordinated through interagency and Service partnerships. Projects and efforts will support the National Defense Strategy and the Joint Warfighting Concept; provide a hedge against technical uncertainty by leveraging insights gained through mission-focused efforts; and foster collaboration among government laboratories, academia, commercial research, and innovation institutions.
The I&M Strategy and Communications team provides policy and strategy analysis/planning and operational/strategic communications support for the office.
The ideal candidate will:
Be responsible for performing the following Senior level Strategy and Communications Management and execution functions:
Execute as a Strategy and Communications team to provide policy and strategy analysis/planning and operational/strategic communications support for the I&M office
Oversee, guide, and develop strategic messaging themes and talking points; communications and outreach campaigns; and development of communications products and solutions tailored for specific audiences, including senior leadership and Congress
Coordinate and orchestrate with the Program Integration and Portfolio Managers for situational awareness and information exchange
Support response to tasks, short notice data calls, and other salient information for leadership and senior executives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Experience developing strategic communication strategies and/or campaigns using various communications mechanisms including social media, press releases, websites, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Masters in a related field (e.g., public relations, public media, mass communications, etc.)
10 years of experience
Secret clearance required, with the eligibility to obtain TS/SCI
Desired Experience:
Experience supporting outreach communication in defense programs related to scientific, engineering, and technical analysis of prospective and ongoing prototypes and demonstrations of emerging, innovative technologies
Experience with LinkedIn and website communication platforms, techniques, and continued activity
Experience with project management and analysis of technology system prototypes
Experience developing annual technology assessment review publications
PMP Certification
