Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Materials Planner Senior Specialist to join our team. As the senior specialist, you will first be responsible for developing, creating, and then maintaining the documentation for all plant planning processes to be used as standard work. You will be responsible for training and supporting both new and current planners, ensuring they meet the required standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. You will also play a key role in implementing new technologies, such as S/4 Hana and Business Network, and maintaining accurate and efficient planning processes across multiple plants. Your attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams will be essential in driving the success of our planning operations.
Responsibilities
Develop and create the documentation for the processes that will become standard work for all planners.
Train new planners on planning processes, tools, and best practices to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
Bring current planners to standard by identifying training needs, providing necessary guidance, and monitoring their progress.
Perform Lean Assessment yearly to evaluate the effectiveness of planning processes and identify areas for improvement.
Attend SAP conferences and training sessions to stay up to date with the latest advancements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Lead the implementation of S/4 Hana and Business Network, working closely with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure a successful transition.
Provide planning support to the team as needed, assisting with capacity planning, material availability, and other planning-related tasks.
Develop and maintain training materials to ensure consistency and standardization in planning practices.
Expand knowledge and expertise to eventually train in other areas of planning, contributing to the overall development of the planning team.
Measure and set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), regularly monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to identify areas requiring corrective actions. Monitor KPIs at all plants, investigating and resolving any issues that may impact planning efficiency or inventory targets.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be monitored include clean master data, 95% MRP compliance, and meeting inventory targets.
Assist with Material Inventory Optimization (MIO) Reviews and aim to publish a minimum of 25% of materials reviewed.
Conduct bi-annual on-site assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of planning processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
This position will require 40% - 50% travel.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
Strong experience in plant planning, preferably in a CPG manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in SAP and other planning software.
Excellent knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
