  CFS Description

  C loud F oundations S ervices (CFS) is a strategic component for providing critical cloud services to multiple Oracle Global Industry Unit applications. O racle C loud I nfrastructure (OCI), Oracle’s second generation I nfrastructure a s a S ervice (IaaS), provides improved performance and reliability. CFS provides a microservice-driven platform, software delivery tool chain, and a continuous integration/continuous delivery operations model to support high margin, highly elastic, and highly available Software as a Service (SaaS) applications.

  Roles & Responsibilities

  The candidate will work with highly skilled, highly motivated engineers using agile methodologies based on Scrum or Kanban, and incorporating enterprise agile practices from Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The team embraces a DevOps environment – the Developers are the Operators. The work environment is to treat everything as code (code, configuration, infrastructure, pipelines, everything) to achieve the highest quality product in the most efficient amount of time.

  Work with the Product Owner and team members to build new features and enhancements, while supporting existing capacities being heavily utilized across all Oracle Global Industry Units

  Use Everything-As-Code methodologies to ensure traceability, configurability, immutability, repeatability, and governability

  Manage and improve our Gitlab SCM system

  Manage and improve both Jenkins and Gitlab CI

  Provide static and dynamic security services to run within CI/CD pipelines on both source code and build artifacts

  Manage Artifact Repositories and artifact replication to multiple cloud tenancy regions

  Enable service deployments to the Kubernetes based micro service platform in multiple cloud tenancy regions

  Attend training as required to meet Oracle and CFS compliance and regulatory standards. Perform daily task in accordance of compliance and regulatory standards

  Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

  Preferred Qualifications

  An ideal candidate will have expertise with:

  Linux development (Oracle Linux)

  CI/CD (Jenkins and GitLab CI)

  Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, and docker-compose)

  Cloud computing platform (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Services)

  Programming and scripting languages (Python and bash)

  git version-control and collaboration (GitLab)

  Security scanning (Fortify, OWASP, and clamAV)

  Issue tracking and collaboration (Jira and Confluence)

  Support

  Oracle Global Industry Units provide services to many critical systems globally requiring 24x7 support. This role is in the CFS Development team, however the Operations team may call on Development for additional technical assistance during a customer outage. To provide the required support to Oracle customers, CFS will use additional compensation to cover extended business hours and/or on-call pay based on in-country laws and Oracle policy. In general, the development team will provide Tier 3 support for service outages; the engineer is designated in advance to provide coverage for select services. In addition, engagement with other Oracle development and support teams may be needed.

  Responsibilities

  Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for applications, databases, tools, networks etc.

  As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

  Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

  Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

  Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

  Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
