  Job Summary:

  As a Senior Sales Support Consultant , your role will be to work closely with customers, dealers, and Caterpillar sales execution teams to collect competitive market information and identify key industry and customer needs that will be used to make strategic management decisions and influence product development programs. As the primary interface between the Product Group and the Global Construction and Infrastructure division, your responsibilities will include driving the development of the product strategy in terms of product requirements and functional specifications. This role requires traveling 25% and working across different time zones.

  What You Will Do:

  Consulting with the product groups, districts, and dealers in developing and implementing customer solutions designed to maximize product value and price.

  Overseeing Percent of Industry Sales (PINS) trends, industry outlook, demand fluctuation and basic customer requirements.

  Conducting product performance studies, assessing competitive landscape, collecting product and customer requirements in order to capitalize opportunities for incremental sales to create the business case for product improvement process and new product introduction programs.

  Developing and delivering product value messaging and sales training as the recognized global product and industry expert.

  Developing and executing the Go to Market strategy.

  What You Have:

  Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

  Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

  Background in the construction industry, knowledge of construction equipment, and/or experience in working with dealers, and developing product requirements.
