JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) islooking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Report Developer and Analyst.
Reporting to the Manager, Projects Controls, this position is responsible to assist clients in defining their emerging and existing business requirements to meet their business needs. Assess, provide, and support all but the most complex information technology systems and products and related services to fulfill their business needs. Support the IT business plan process enhancement demand planning, project initiation, support for project rollout and support of service improvements initiatives. Provide consultative, advisory, training, and educational services, and act as a team leader on complex activities. *KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES *
Provide support for project management, technical leadership and system expertise to projects and teams involved in the design, development, deployment, and support of advanced information systems or tools.
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automated reports using Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI and other reporting software as required.
Determine vulnerabilities or areas of poor performance to boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy in current systems.
Provide specialized expertise in the use of facility software, including compilers, utilities, program libraries, operating-system facilities, data-transfer and Data storage facilities, and database management system facilities.
Provide specialized expert program and database design, and the deployment and utilization of integrated information technology products and related services.
Carry out design, development, implementation and maintenance activities for complex systems and databases.
Maintain library files for software in production. Advise and assist concerning the production of systems, products, or databases.
Implement and document enhancements and changes to meet new user needs.
Other Duties as Required.
EDUCATION
4 years of University in computer science, or by having the equivalent level of education.
QUALIFICATIONS
A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience .
Professional experience as a Systems or Reporting Analyst
Demonstrated experience developing, documenting, testing, and providing on-going support in MS based databases primarily SQL Server and related technologies.
Experience working with various table structures within complex relational databases.
Experience reporting from data warehouse sources.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Developing advanced T-SQL queries and scripts for management of an integrated MSBI data warehouse Building and maintaining automated reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI
Data analytics, machine learning, and generative AI using programming languages such as Python and Julia
Hands-on experience with the following technologies and databases is highly preferred:
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server 2019+)
Microsoft PowerBI
Microsoft DevOps, Microsoft Visual Studio and Git
Master Data Management (MDM), specifically TIBCO EBX5
C#/ VB.NET, Visual Studio .NET
Project controls/management in large construction projects or the nuclear industry
Asset Suite 7+, Primavera P6, and/or Hexagon EcoSys
