GREENFIELD PART TIME Inclusive Enrollment Coordinator (AcademicCoordinator) This is a Massachusetts Department of Higher Educationgrant-funded position through August GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIESReporting to the Provost, Academic and Student Affairs, the InclusiveEnrollment Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of planning andimplementing the Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment (MAICE)program at Greenfield Community College as described in the MAICEPlanning Grant proposal. This program provides comprehensive academicsupport for eligible high school students in transition, ages 18-21,with intellectual, autism, and severe developmental disabilities topromote access to campus life and college coursework in an inclusivesetting. The Coordinator is the primary contact between the student, thefamily, College faculty and staff, the partnering school systems andstate agencies, and the educational coaches supporting the students oncampus. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE*: Master\'s degree in specialeducation, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field required,or Bachelor\'s degree with commensurate professional experience in thefield of disability service provision or an equivalent combination ofeducation, training, and experience. At least three (3) years ofexperience working with young adults with intellectual disabilities,Autism, and/or developmental disabilities. Thorough knowledge of theAmericans with Disabilities Act, and Sections 504 and 508 of theRehabilitation Act. Competent computer user. Experience with programdevelopment. Knowledge of the principles of Universal Design forLearning. REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS: Demonstrated strong interpersonal skillswith a proven record of accomplishment as a team player. Excellentverbal, written, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectivelywith ethnic, cultural, and socially diverse student populations.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual (English-Spanish or English-ASL).EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop programs with sending districtsto build student independence through full inclusion in the academic andsocial life of the college. Collaborate with high school transitionspecialists and liaisons to balance college coursework withcommunity-based internships or employment. Participate in recruitment,admission, and orientation of incoming students and referrals todisability services, peer tutoring, and student activities. Partner withthe College Office of Communication and Marketing to develop and updateprogram materials for students, families, high school partners, andcollege faculty. Work with College Academic Affairs to identifypotential classes for program students. Guide families on navigating thepost-secondary educational system and the transition to college.Co-facilitate Person Centered Plans for incoming students, incollaboration with high school partners. Coordinate new studentorientation including the development of program materials andpresentations for incoming students and educational coaches, and arrangetraining for students on GCC email, website, and learning managementsystem. Provide academic advising by assisting students with courseregistration and advising students on credit vs. audit options. Consultwith educational coaches and transition specialists regarding thesupport needs of enrolled students. Identify student performanceconcerns and provide access to appropriate support services.
