Senior Project Engineer, Product Kohler Energy
Location: Onsite Hattiesburg, MS (Kohler Energy 95 WL Runnels Industrial Dr Hattiesburg, MS 39401)
Opportunity
The Senior Project Engineer is a key technical expert and contributor to the Product Development process, who engineers gasoline engines. This role will include participating in project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, planning, and risk management. The Sr. Project Engineer leads SPD projects and initiatives and supports NPD projects.
A Senior Project Engineer will:
Manage the mechanical engineering tasks for assigned projects.
Produce technical details and specifications to solve engineering problems.
Engineer and validate parts, assemblies, and systems.
Contribute to high-level business strategy.
Work frequently with cross-functional teams.
Mentor other engineers on technical subjects and processes.
Specific Responsibilities
Leads high-impact projects to support cost and warranty targets and sourcing and manufacturing strategies.
Resolves design issues for customers and manufacturing.
Builds engineering experience through a combination of mentorship from an on-boarding coach, hands-on work, technical analysis, and testing.
Handles responsibilities and performs projects and tasks for technical assignments of broad scope and complexity under the general direction of the Sr. Manager Product Development and Platform Leaders.
Assumes a high level of autonomy in decision-making and day-to-day activities.
Provides technical direction and design intent to Computer-Aided Design Analysts.
Ensure adherence to applicable product compliance requirements including the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations and California Health and Safety Code.
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering
4 to 7 years’ experience working as an engineer. Engineers who historically performed well in this role have product development, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience in complex machine and system design is critical.
Experience with tools such as 3D CAD, engineering calculation software, and MS Office software is essential.
A reliable self-starter with the ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively is essential.

The salary range for this position is $87,450 - $111,100. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
