  Description

  Amazon Devices – the team behind the best-selling Amazon Echo, Alexa, Kindle E-reader, Fire Tablet, Fire TV, Cloud Cam and Dash Button product lines—is seeking a seasoned product manager to join the Devices Pricing and Promotions team to help lead our pricing strategy and systems.

  Our organization’s vision is to use science to automate forecasting, allocation, pricing and purchasing decisions for the Devices business. We build science and technology to create Hands Off the Wheel systems that automate pricing and promotions, creating operating and financial efficiencies for Amazon Devices. We are an interdisciplinary team that combines the talents of science and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal.

  We are looking for an experienced Sr Product Manager - Technical to tackle complex and ambiguous pricing optimization problems that span numerous systems and organizations across the Devices business (Echo Device Family, FireTV, eReaders, Tablets etc.). They will be a highly visible individual that will own the communication, coordination, and execution of a long-term, multi-year product vision. As a Sr. Product Manager over our price evaluation tools, you’ll partner with our team of research scientists, data scientists, business intelligence engineers, and developers to build out the next generation of pricing science and automation.

  Key job responsibilities

  As an ideal candidate, you have a passion to understand the interplay of our different pricing strategies to fuel scale and automation. You are responsible for defining and driving our product roadmaps. You will work with product line teams, forecasting teams, in-house scientists, data-engineers, software teams, and retail pricing organizations to identify new features and projects. As a product strategist, you must analyze the potential customer and financial implications, select the most promising ideas, prioritize them and create a cohesive roadmap. You will also evangelize new features to our clients, working to accelerate their adoption, track the impacts, and communicate results with senior leaders.

  This is a highly visible position. You must have the experience and capability to prepare documentation for senior executives and align your roadmap with Devices strategic objectives. Excellent written, verbal communication and data analytical skills are a necessity. Successful candidates should thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, analytical, and fast-paced environment oriented around delivering better prices to customers worldwide. You will excel at looking around corners, and anticipating where to build and when to test to fail fast.

  A day in the life

  • Define the multi-year vision for the space

  • Build and manage high quality product roadmaps based on your vision and strategy

  • Work backwards to determine what the initial building blocks to achieve that vision will be

  • Work with key business stakeholders, engineering partner teams, Pricing Research, and Central Econ to build out requirements for the different phases

  • Work with our in-house engineering team to build and innovate in the space

  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs for speed to launch, performance, and features

  • Gain support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing peers and senior leadership

  Creating program goals and related metrics, track progress and manage through obstacles to achieve your objectives

  • Drive adoption of pricing science across organization with key stakeholders, including product line teams and functional partner teams.

  Seattle, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  Bachelor's degree

  Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  Experience with end to end product delivery

  Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  Experience managing technical products or online services

  Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

  Preferred Qualifications

  Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
