　　Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). 　　Responsibilities

　　You will serve as a primary interface for the Certified Packaging Program (CPP). You will provide support to and be an integral part of a team of experts providing services such as fissile material handling, certified packaging operations, leakage rate testing, and transportation of hazardous materials in support of the MSTS Plutonium Modernization Storage Program.

　　Key Responsibilities

　　Develop and maintain procedures to perform certified packaging and material handling operations.

　　Interface with other projects and internal/external organizations to ensure necessary support is delivered to achieve mission deliverables.

　　Ensure DOE and MSTS line management are informed of all events which could affect the health and safety of site personnel or the public.

　　Provide real-time control of facility access and the movement and location of personnel and material within the facility to ensure that activities progress in a safe, secure, and orderly manner.

　　Ensure necessary tools and equipment are available to support CPP operations.

　　Ensure Certified Packaging Center (CPC) is prepared to support work daily and that projects comply with applicable MSTS policies, programs, and procedures.

　　Support the FMH Training Officer during training development and implementation.

　　Coordinate and track surveillances, in-service inspections, and maintenance.

　　Qualify as a Radiological Worker II, Fissile Material Handler, OTSD Transfer Coordinator, Level II Leak Test Technician, Department of Transportation (DOT) Advanced Radioactive Material Shipper, and DOT Advanced Hazardous Material Shipper.

　　At the direction of the FMH Supervisor, handle significant quantities of nuclear material and configure test objects as a Fissile Material Handler.

　　At the direction of the Onsite Transportation Safety Document (OTSD) Supervisor, support non-equivalent transfers of hazardous material as a Transfer Coordinator.

　　This position will report to the CPP Manager.

　　Qualifications

　　Bachelor’s degree in field related to the position or equivalent training and experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, which included 2 years’ experience in nuclear operations or nuclear maintenance such as those found at a DOE nuclear facility, commercial power plant, or US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program; or experience with high explosives handling and operations; or chemical handling, storage, transfer,and controlled release activities.

　　Experience working with requirements-based systems in areas such as facility operations, maintenance, and/or radiological.

　　Ability to qualify as Department of Transportation (DOT) Advanced Radioactive Material Shipper and Advanced Hazardous Material Shipper.

　　Ability to read and follow detailed instructions utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Includes verification and validation of new or revised SOPs.

　　Training or experience in areas related to DOT regulated hazardous materials shipment is desirable.

　　Experience with operating fork trucks/forklifts is desirable.

　　Experience with Oracle procurement systems is a plus.

　　Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

　　Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and MS Outlook are required.

　　Domestic travel may be required.

　　The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).

　　Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).

　　Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

　　Must possess a valid driver’s license.

　　MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. 　　Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 (http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=14b1c770db022992d237769fbe9fc519&mc=true&node=se10.4.707_14&rgn=div8) , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. 　　Annual salary range for this position is: $94,949.40 - $141,752.00.

　　Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
