Senior Construction Materials Technician will be hired on a full time or seasonal basis in our Burnsville office based on level of experience and workload. What You Will Do: You will be part of our Materials Testing team within our Construction Services Group. * Performing field sampling and testing on soils, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt materials. * Perform required Special Inspections on vertical construction such as reinforcing steel, masonry, adhesive anchor installation, and weld inspections. * Verify compliance with the plans, specifications, and schedule of materials. * Prepare and produce project documentation for private, municipal, county, MnDOT and federal projects. * Documentation will include field testing, and inspection reports, helping with cost estimates on projects, and other relevant project documentation. * You may also help with proposals, project budgets, schedules, and may be involved in geotechnical investigation, construction inspection, pavement management, and a variety of other technical related activities. * This position will provide you an opportunity to continue to build your career and work in an enjoyable and challenging work environment. What You Will Bring: We are looking for individuals experienced in: * Construction materials testing who want to better themselves and want to be challenged. * 3+ years of construction materials testing, or related experience is wanted but not required. (5+ years of experience preferred). * Experience with vertical construction special inspections and testing. * Excellent technical, communication, organizational skills. * Current MnDOT, ACI, and ICC technical certifications are preferred. Qualified candidates should include their current certifications when applying. * Valid driver s license with a good driving record is required. * You must have the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains associated with construction sites. * A two-year technical degree from an accredited school, or a degree from a four-year accredited college in a field related to civil engineering construction is a plus and will increase your opportunities but is not required. * Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Due to the physical nature of the work, you must be able to lift 50 lbs. 75 lbs. periodically. You re required to work with your hands, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. At times you may be working at or on uneven terrain, slopes, in confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
