Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Independence is responsible for understanding, communicating, and ensuring the Firm's and its professionals' compliance with the relevant independence rules including but not limited to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), as well as Baker Tilly independence policies. This position includes being responsible for the Firm's independence with respect to new clients and new projects for existing clients.
The duties include:
Running the independence portion of the firm's client acceptance software system.Analyzing services and relationships between the firm and clients an assessing the impact on independence.Analyzing complex private equity structures to identify affiliates of clients.Working with partners and managers in researching services being performed for clients.Working with the firm's conflicts team in identifying potential independence issues with clients.Consultations with partners and managers concerning independence.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.Minimum of 6+ year(s) experience required in audit independence.Ability to learn and run software systems and research tools.Experience running software systems and project management preferred.Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word, required.Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and handle multiple projects/tasks with an attention to detail.Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or in coordination with other professionals.Capable of understanding and maintaining the confidentiality of all information.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to respond tactfully and professionally in high demand situations.
Additional Information
For California, Colorado, New York and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $136,310 to $288,900. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
