  We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Flammability Certification Engineer. This position is an individual contributor role that will report to the Senior Manager, Flammability Certification to ensure our products support our customer’s needs.   This position does offer relocation.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Performs standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and make design decisions.

  Represents the Flammability Certification team in internal technical and design reviews.

  Compiles FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEM's and regulatory agencies.

  Responsible for the review and approval of design changes for certification substantiation.

  Performs material selection and material specification correlation.

  Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering project.

  Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.

  Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.

  Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.

  Participates in defining of engineering approaches and in planning/scheduling work.

  Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experiencePreferred Qualifications:

  Familiarity with standard aviation materials.

  Prior working experience in the aerospace industry, specifically with aircraft interiors.

  Prior experience reviewing and approving drawings.

  Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and give presentations.

  Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams.

  Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite applications and engineering related software programs.

  Employee Referral Eligible

  The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
