Program Management involves is responsible for the program’s results by selecting and coordinating the efforts of several projects that contribute to goal-based opportunities for improvement. This roles collaborates across project teams that may have conflicting goals of their own and mitigates risk by recommending solutions from various project teams that enable the organization to best achieve the program’s overall goals. They define and communicate program milestones to participating projects and hold project teams accountable for meeting objectives related to the program. Resolves issues and conflicts while promoting the benefits of the program’s outcome. Able to adapt in the event of missed goals or poor measurement results.
This role involves;
Participates in program planning / scheduling
Coordinates project teams for specific works
Tracks work completion and reports progress
Required to have broad view of program objectives
Define the program governance (controls) and manage its interactions with Project outcomes
Ensure program goals and objectives are and remain aligned to the overall strategic objectives of the Portfolio
Align the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s outcome along with business change manager and manage all program documentation
Skills

Efficiently resolves issues or conflicts
Provides guidance and point of contact for project teams
Utilize appropriate collaboration techniques
Must possess strong leadership and management skills.
Must possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders
Developing a program communications management plan to address the stakeholders needs and expectations and also to provide key information in a timely manner
Identification of stakeholders, getting an understanding of their needs and expectations, developing a stakeholder engagement strategy to support these stakeholders so that the stakeholder’s expectations can be aligned with the program objectives and ultimately improve the overall acceptance of the program objectives.
