Job Description
Position Overview
As a Senior Financial Analyst, Renewable Development you will supportproject development efforts by furthering the company\'s understandingof the economics of projects under development and leading strategicinitiatives with parties across the organization. Responsibilitiesinclude creating, organizing, and managing financial models for allprojects within a development region by obtaining updated inputs,quantifying economic impacts of the same, coordinating with variousinternal departments (e.g. project management, project engineering,structured finance, asset management, etc.), and supporting RFPresponses. You will lead various workstreams to optimize economics,quantify the impacts of idiosyncratic or broad industry risks onprojects, and upskilling other areas of the organization.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of valuation models to analyze the economicmerits and risks associated with wind, solar, and storage projects.Collaborate with company engineers, developers, originators,construction, commercial analytic, and accounting professionals todevelop appropriate assumptions for project models.Assess and interrogate the integrity of economic models, communicatekey assumptions that are driving pricing/returns to leadership ofthe origination and development teams, and ensure all keyassumptions are properly documented.Work closely with project developers to ensure economic models areproperly calibrated to account for key unknowns.Run model sensitivities to assess how primary assumptions may affectpricing and/or returns.Identify inconsistencies across models and provide feedback todevelopment on how to ensure proper alignment of assumptions acrossprojects.Communicate with advisors, trade groups, and legal counsel toimprove economic models or development strategy.Work closely with engineers to optimize the design of solar and windprojects from an economic perspective.Deliver trainings to others in the organization to further theirunderstanding of project economics.Identify and implement process improvements throughout theorganization.Required Skills
