Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Environmental Services team is seeking an enthusiastic and talented individual for an Environmental Project Manager position in our Roseville, CA office. The successful candidate will manage and implement due diligence and site assessment projects working closely with a small team of project professionals; provide due diligence technical support, project management, and staff mentorship and guidance; and actively support expansion of Stantec’s brownfield assessment practice in California. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of relevant experience including managing environmental and due diligence projects in California. We are seeking applicants who are self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, able to perform under pressure of deadline, and who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

Support the Stantec environmental services team in managing brownfield grant implementation projects throughout California.

Manage due diligence site assessment projects for a range of municipal and private clients throughout California, Nevada, and Arizona.

Participate with local team members and practice leaders in targeted business development opportunities designed to grow the brownfields assessment practice in California.

Provide technical oversight and professional mentorship for junior staff. This role may evolve into a supervisory position.

Effectively manage projects throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with Stantec best practices and financial requirements.

Frequently interact with clients to discuss and develop project scope, fee, and budget.

Collaborate with colleagues to provide technical peer review of project deliverables.

Perform routine project management activities such as reviewing and tracking all contracts, invoices, payments to subcontractors and vendors, and generating timely and accurate project invoices for our clients.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and ability to generate high-quality client deliverables.

Track record of successful collaboration with peers and mentorship of junior staff.

Conscientious, organized, and disciplined.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Ability to work effectively with staff of diverse leadership styles and professional backgrounds.

Significant experience with due diligence requirements under ASTM E1527-21 and ‘all appropriate inquiry’ standards.

Previous project controls experience in the field of environmental consulting.

Strong computer skills and experience and literacy in scheduling, project budgeting, and financial forecasting.

Experience with USEPA grant-funded brownfield assessment projects is helpful but not required.

Experience, Education and Credentials

College degree with a concentration in earth science, geology, natural or environmental science, or engineering from an accredited college preferred.

10 years of experience

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to convey complex issues to a variety of audiences. Experience working with clients, project stakeholders, the environmental community, and the public.

Experience communicating and working with local, state, and federal agency staff.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

CA Other Areas $110,000 - CA Other Areas $165,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS WLC)The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death dismemberment (ADD) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
