  About the role:

  You will drive and support the company forecasting process, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform strategic decisions, and partner with the business systems team to implement and maintain financial planning tools to improve process efficiency and forecast accuracy.   In this role, you will: 

  Support the monthly and quarterly corporate forecasting process and annual operating planning process, own and communicate the Finance forecast calendar, and collaborate across Finance & Strategy teams to drive forecast accuracy Collaborate with the business systems team to implement and maintain financial planning tools; define Finance requirements, system logic, and calculations. Run monthly system integrations into Adaptive, pulling in the latest headcount data from Workday and financials from NetSuite Create and publish monthly forecast and reporting packages with key business metrics, P&L, headcount, highlighting risks and opportunities Partner cross-functionally with the benefits and payroll teams to maintain the personnel assumptions and forecast for the Finance & Strategy teams to align with strategic priorities and key business assumptions Establish financial comps / benchmarking compared to peers Lead preparation of board of director materials, executive leadership financial reviews, and CFO financial reporting Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business decision-making Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices Minimum requirements for the role:

  3+ years of experience in Strategic Finance / FP&A Undergraduate degree in finance / economics / accounting / mathematics preferred Strong financial modeling and analysis capabilities, including advanced Excel / Google Sheets and Powerpoint / Google Slides skills Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, often changing environment Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management Must be a proactive & highly organized self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail Industry experience in SaaS-based technology companies preferred Prior experience using NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, Adaptive Planning, and Tableau is a plus Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

  We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

  The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

  $77,053—$116,550 USD

  At Samsara, we have adopted a flexible way of working, enabling teams and individuals to do their best work, regardless of where they’re based. We value in-person collaboration and know a change of scenery and quiet space to work is welcomed from time to time, but also appreciate that the world of work has changed. Our offices remain open for those who prefer to collaborate or work in-office, but we also encourage fully remote applicants. As most roles are not required to be in the office, we are able to hire remotely where Samsara has an established presence.
