Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering in Cedar Rapids, IA. Domestic travel required 3-4 times per year.

Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts and coordinates moderately complex tests for control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Conducts multidisciplinary research in assisting equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software to develop software engineering activities.
Analyzes system capabilities and determines end user needs to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition to ensure current and future needs of the business are met.
Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
At least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as an Embedded Linux Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry. In the alternative, a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of experience as an Embedded Linux Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry would be acceptable.
At least 3 years of experience as a command line user of Linux
At least 3 years of experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python)
At least 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining Linux board support packages (BSP) for embedded systems
At least 3 years of experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration
At least 3 years of experience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools such as logic analyzer and Wireshark
At least 3 years of experience with embedded C/C++.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $149,000 per year. This is the correct compensation range. Please disregard any additional verbiage noted below pertaining to the salary range.
The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
