We are now seeking a Senior Engineering Manager with strong leadership and mentoring skills to join our Java Compiler Team. We craft outstanding compilers that realise the potential of NVIDIA's CPUs designed for the world's largest Data Centers: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/data-center/grace-cpu/. These compilers are key for the performance of AI, HPC and other performance critical software deployed on NVIDIA Data Centres, on the cloud and at super computing centres around the world. In this role you will solve critical problems working alongside an outstanding engineering team with vision in Compiler technology and systems software, doing what you enjoy! 　　What you'll be doing:

　　Lead a distributed team of compiler engineers to improve code generation for key Java applications accelerated by Grace and Grace-Hopper systems

　　Establish team objectives, create and manage project plans and empower and unblock team to achieve the objectives

　　Collaborate with stakeholders from application performance, CPU architecture and marketing teams to accelerate Java on Grace and Grace-Hopper systems.

　　Improve Java performance by innovative compiler optimization techniques in Java Compiler and JVM.

　　Mentor and coach engineers, encouraging a consistently excellent line management experience for all the engineers in the team.

　　Craft the team culture and norms in accordance with NVIDIA's values, identify gaps in being a successful team and act on them. In addition improve development practices and collaboration within the team and with others outside the team.

　　What we need to see:

　　Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field (or equivalent experience)

　　10+ years of production software development in Compiler or related SW with focus on optimizations, improvements to Java Compiler, JVM.

　　3+ years of technical lead/management experience.

　　Strong software design fundamentals and a deep understanding of compilers and programming languages

　　Demonstrated expertise with ARM architecture including SVE2 and Neon.

　　Ways to stand out from the crowd:

　　Deep knowledge of Processor architecture such as ARM

　　Deep knowledge of Java run-time environment
