About Senior Electrical Engineer

  SenspexinRio Rancho, New Mexicois seeking to hire aSenior Electrical Engineerfor our Engineering Department. The Senior Electrical Engineer is critical to the success of our missions and responsible for providing design- and electrical-engineering support of thermal imaging and video camera vision systems; including electro-mechanical switching mechanisms, video and graphics processing, and environmental sensing devices. The person filling this position will perform detailed design, documentation, and testing of electronic and electro-mechanical components, equipment and subsystems.

  Develop, design, troubleshoot, and analyze systems and equipment in accordance with gooddesign management procedures.Design electronic circuits, subsystems, products or systems for commercial, military andscientific applications.Draft detail and assembly drawings of design components, schematics, and printed circuit boardlayouts using computer-assisted equipment or standard drafting techniques and devices.Perform fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical orelectromechanical products and systems.Incorporate Senspex thermal imaging and electro-optical devices into custom systems byresearching and analyzing data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manualsto determine feasibility of design or application.Assist with managing the development process, assembly procedures, test procedures and otherdocumentation sufficient to manufacture to the customers' requirements.Assist with conducting feasibility studies, design analysis to determine suitability of design concepts, design changes, and test new and modified designs.The qualifications we require from you:

  Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electrical or optical) or other related technical field plus 4 years of directly-related experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.Knowledge of circuit board design, chips, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.Ability to read and create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.Experience in any of the following: infrared and electro optical sensors, image processing, sensor fusion, sensor design and analysis, sensor testing and data analysis, and integration on platforms.Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical engineering.The qualifications we'd like to have from you:

  Master's degree in Engineering (electrical or optical)Electronic and mechanical design experience with proven capability of solving technical challenges on mechanical problemsExperience in design of digital video signal circuitry and embedded video/graphics processorsHands-on experience in the development of electronic productsExperience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal and structural analysisUnderstanding of network protocols and programmable controllersKnowledge in the design of infrared or visible spectrum sensors or optical componentsStrong interpersonal, teamwo k, and process development skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment where a high degree of flexibility is required.Reliable, flexible, detail-oriented and focused, self-sufficient in carrying out job responsibilitiesAbility to manage multiple programs and projects effectively and efficientlyExceptional organization and communication skillsKnowledge in quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015Experience working in a military or federal environmentOther Requirements:

  Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work within the United StatesNational security clearance: This position may require obtaining a U.S. DoD security clearance.
