What you’ll be doing
In collaboration with the VP – Cloud Engineering & Operations, and related engineering leads you will build and implement a strategy to transition global infrastructure services (on-prem and cloud) to self-service cloud delivery models. You will lead a combination of product ownership and infrastructure engineering teams to direct that transition. Your task will be to work with existing engineering teams, product owners, Experian business unit and regional CTOs and internal support teams to establish technology standards for governance and the platform that development teams and business units use to consume. You will build teams of engineers that focus on specific product outcomes as well as cross-domain engineering teams that can improve global outcomes. You will define an objective standard, transition products to that standard, then own and maintain those practices going forward.
This role will directly deliver compute and storage, virtualization, backup, infrastructure as code and automation platforms. The scope of influence also includes self-service delivery of observability, database, security tools, and CI/CD.
Your organization will be accountable to delivering these products and services to a defined SLA, maintaining software and platform version lifecycle, and driving security and compliance against global standards.
You will partner with peer organizations such as cloud operations, SRE, private cloud delivery, developer platform, and data strategy to deliver an easy to use, secure, self-service approach of cloud engineering and operations to our business and regional partners.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
· Define and implement the overall approach to delivering infrastructure in a self-service model
· Build a program of work to transition existing products and teams to the self-service model
· Provide overall leadership in the implementation of a private cloud environment
· Establish and socialize organizational strategy and roadmap in collaboration with VP – Cloud Engineering & Ops
· Establish a global team of engineers to execute the program and take ownership of operational practices
· Build and maintain strong relationships with business unit and regional CTOs and leaders
· Establish an organization of highly skilled engineers with both systems and software development expertise
· Hold teams accountable to service level expectations and provide transparency to operational best practices through metrics, dashboards and reports
· Analyze and identify areas of inefficiency and drive automation and process improvement to improve service quality
· Maintain a practice of continual improvement
What your background looks like
· 5–7 years as team lead or other leadership in a technical capacity
· 8–10 years working in technical operations roles
· 3-5 years in product ownership or leading product owners
· Technical experience with building infrastructure, cloud, and software delivery in self-service cloud models
· Expert level knowledge in SRE practices with experience leading teams at enterprise scale
· Passion for rationalizing and standardizing operational work
· Experience Recruiting and building new teams
· Process improvement focused
· Demonstrated Experience with large scale incident resolution
· Technical depth to extract key documentation from existing teams
· Data and Results driven and capable of using data to provide transparency to business outcomes
· Ability to negotiate service windows and RACI with product owners
· Ability to lead multiple teams in “follow-the-sun” models
· Strong understanding of Agile delivery principles and experience transitioning teams to Agile practices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and education.
