  Job Description

  The Senior Director, HR - Operations & Central Functions is responsible for providing overall HR leadership to the Operations & Central Functions in the Electronic Systems business segment at BAE Systems, Inc. The role will have HR oversight for the Operations function and lead a team of HR business partners supporting Quality, Business Development, Strategy & Planning, Contracts, Finance, Legal, Information Technology & Security, Communications and Program Management Office.

  In this role, you will build talent strategies, enable a culture of inclusion and deploy organizational effectiveness tools that attract reward, engage, retain, and develop our diverse talent base.

  This role will report directly to the Vice President, HR of Electronic Systems. This position is a hybrid role based at one of our major Electronic Systems locations: Nashua, NH (and surrounding area); Cedar Rapids, IA; San Diego, CA; Huntsville, AL; Austin, TX; Endicott, NY; Greenlawn, NY; Fort Wayne, IN.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Create and execute an agile people strategy across that advances critical business priorities and supports the attraction, development and retention of our talent - while embracing the future of work.Lead and/or partner (with COE's) on items including, but not limited to talent acquisition, talent development, leadership development, succession planning, diversity, equity and inclusion, organizational effectiveness, performance development and total rewards.Build and execute a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion plan to drive tangible improvements in diverse representation. Integrate DEI principles and practices into business goals an, talent development strategies. Promote a strong culture of inclusion across the organization.Orchestrate key talent movement with an aim towards building diverse teams and robust succession.Partner with leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of their teams and their organizational design. Facilitate workshops to re-evaluate existing structures, where needed. Lead change management efforts and new leader onboarding/assimilation activities, as required.Counsel / coach functional leaders on matters concerning development of their organization to enhance effectiveness and potential. Connect leaders to the right resources to support their own development and the development/effectiveness of their teams.Manage a team of HR Partners that work together, leveraging best practices and regional expertise. Provide guidance, direction, and coaching; assess performance, provide feedback, and actively develop talent.Serve as a member of the Electronic Systems HR leadership team, actively partnering with other leadership team members to drive innovative, strategic, and consistent people strategies across all of Electronic Systems.

  Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience is required.HR leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.Must be willing to travel up to 25%.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. BAE Systems, Inc. will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  Experience in an HR Business Partner role supporting a matrixed organization in excess of 3,000 employees.Previous experience working for a government defense contractor.Previous experience leading a large functional transformation.Preferred location is one of the major Electronic Systems locations: Nashua, NH (and surrounding area); Cedar Rapids, IA; San Diego, CA; Huntsville, AL; Austin, TX; Endicott, NY; Greenlawn, NY; Fort Wayne, IN. Hybrid with a mix of on-site and remote presence. If not local to one of the areas, this position can be worked remote with increased travel.Proven experience serving as a coach to senior leaders for their organization on HR matters relating to organizational strategies and business imperatives.Business acumen, be innovative, adapt well to change and work collaboratively with strategic influence to drive initiatives across a matrixed environment.Deep knowledge of HR fundamentals (talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, organizational change, learning and development, and organization effectiveness).Ability to develop and present senior level leaders with data-driven solutions that will effectively advance business strategies and drive change throughout their organizations.Project management and prioritization skills with proven attention to detail.Analytical skills to draw appropriate conclusions from data, anticipating second and third order of effects when making recommendations.

  Pay Information

  Full-Time Salary Range: $188900 - $321100

  Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
