Summary
Corporate Strategy is an internal capability that will support key functions in making business decisions and driving key organizational priorities. Reporting to the EVP, Chief Strategy Officer, this role will adapt and execute the business partner’s strategic plan, lead significant projects related to strategic initiatives, and provide insight into external signals that could impact business strategic direction or growth.
Essential Functions

Partner with the Executive Director and Business Unit leaders to develop a portfolio of key strategic initiatives.
Lead one to two projects at a time, that provide insight and direction for key strategic levers to advance and grow the MNK business. Manages stakeholder requirements and expectations for project deliverables and timelines, with clearly defined outcomes.
Provides thought partnership to executive committee and ensure the committee is up to date on key issues, opportunities, and initiatives across the multiple functions of the enterprise. Recommends and implements solutions to complex issues.
Works closely with executive leadership in developing plans for strategic growth, corporate collaborations, acquisitions, divestures and development of strategic alliances.
Identify industry trends and growth opportunities in the pharmaceutical market that directly impacts the strategic planning for the business.
Partner with internal stakeholders to drive analysis of complex sets of data and business processes.
Manages a portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives; maintains responsibility and leadership of development for framework and approach, deliverables, timeliness, and management of stakeholder relationships and expectations.
Accountable for the leadership and execution for orchestrating the annual strategic summit each year. Key deliverables include event oversight, steerco leadership, agenda formation, vendor and speaker coordination and content development.
Supports EVP in internal and external meetings, which includes agenda development, meeting planning, and preparation of appropriate briefing materials, including slides and talking points for EVP. Develops presentations including content creation for all Board of Director presentations, Executive Committee briefings, Quarterly Business Reviews, and other Senior Leadership initiatives.
Support EVP in preparation for Board of Director and Executive Committee meetings and deliverables, including but not limited to, strategy presentations, key initiatives, enterprise goals and KPI’s. Role will be asked to present and participate in Board of Director and EC meetings on a regular basis.
Create an engaging and inclusive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and develop. Play an active role in supporting junior team members to develop.
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years’ experience in a combination of Finance, Marketing, Sales, BD&L, Communications, Strategic Portfolio Management, R&D, strategic planning, management consulting, business and financial analysis. Experience with developing corporate level strategies and business case development. Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
Demonstrated proven extensive ability and success with leading the development and implementation of projects plans, while managing risk, meeting deliverables and timelines on large-scale projects in complex organizations.
Track record of entrepreneurship and driven to solve complex business challenges.
Possess deep understanding of the pharmaceutical market space and stakeholder landscape.
Possess deep knowledge of specialty / rare disease pharmaceuticals.
High integrity, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, building-trusting relationships across an enterprise of stakeholders will be critical to success in this role.
Experience in financial modeling, understanding of key business processes in M&S and G&A functions a plus.
Ability to conceive, create and deliver persuasive business cases to executive level leadership.
Ability to transition effectively from strategic thinker to operational details.
Active listening skills and ability to dissect problems in an organized manner and competing priorities.
Strong technical acumen necessary. Ability to evaluate innovative technology solutions and collaborate with development team leaders.
Well-organized, creative, independent, self-motivated with exceptional written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to interact with individuals from all levels of the organization in a professional, positive, and discreet manner.
Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and respond appropriately to tight timelines. The candidate must have the flexibility to reorder priorities, when necessary, in order to respond effectively to unexpected and/or urgent events.
The candidate must have experience coaching, mentoring, and motivating others to maintain a consistent level of excellence in project management and outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain a high performing organization.

This position works with and provides senior and executive leadership impactful business information.
Working Conditions:
This position works in a typical office environment with approximately 20-30% travel at times. International travel required.
