OVERVIEW: Experienced design engineer with core responsibilities including product and system design and development with an ability to lead the technical execution of a small team. The main focus will be mechanical system and product design using CAD and structural analysis (FEA), supported by systems modeling. This position's responsibilities will span from initial concepts through detailed drawing execution while working within a project team under the review of a design team lead. System-level design leadership and direction is a responsibility of this position.

Vehicle and Product System Design & DevelopmentSystem physics modeling and characterizationCAD system and component concept development and packagingApplication of linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimizationTechnical drawing generationPrepare and present project status reportsTest design, development, and reporting (DVP&R)Guidance of lower-level engineers in their effortsProject SupportSupport and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE and project management skillsPrepare technical specifications for use by Pratt & Miller EngineeringSupport manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs.Function as system-level primary customer contact in some scenariosREQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 8yrs engineering employment experienceBS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalentExperience generating parametric 3D models and Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancingExperience using Finite Element Analysis as a key part of the design processStrong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skillsProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
