We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative senior data architect, who'll join our Data & AI Software services organization IBM Expert Labs in the beautiful city of Kraków, Poland. We're looking for a person with a passion to the world of data management systems, like relational and non-relational databases, data warehouses and data lakes.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As individual contributor this position will work directly with cross functional teams, product management, support and engineering to build and transform data systems at customers.
Your role & Responsibilities:
Work in customer projects on data management systems implementations - solution architecture design, solution review and health checks, ongoing project help and supervision, ongoing solution consultancy i.e. performance tuning or data migration strategies
Work on and provide with reference architecture and guidelines, standards and best practices for greater IBM data management technology adoption and implementation (i.e. cloud migration, database modernization, data integration, data fabric, AI & ML, etc.) to share across the WW team
Review solutions and designs of peers, including data models, pipeline design and provide appropriate feedback including performance optimization. Support peers and IT partners by recommending solutions that reduce/manage risk and deliver value.
Monitor technology trends and emerging technologies. Model a future-state enterprise architecture which incorporates IBM data management platform. Help driving technology strategies and initiatives into actionable roadmaps with clear direction on execution, ensuring business value and ROI
Design and implement own, new tools for automating deployment or migration, etc.
Work in an agile and collaborative, international and cross-functional environment, including account teams, product management, support, engineering.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering
5+ years of experience in managing relational and non-relational databases, data warehousing and data lakes
Experience with data management infrastructure in various architecture: database management systems, storage considerations, file systems, operating system processes and virtualization, containerization and cloud services, connectivity, high availability, disaster recovery considerations
Experience with data processing, data types, data sets, SQL, ETL considerations and data integration
Advanced level of statistics
Must have a proven track record of innovation - 3x exemplary projects
Knowledge sharing experience, like speaking at conferences, publications
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Being detail-oriented, team-oriented, self-directed and adaptable to new development environments and changing business requirements.
Fluency in English language
Knowledge in second European language despite good command of English is a must.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in IBM Technologies: Netezza, Db2, Purescale
5+ years of experience using/working with open source technologies
Fundamental knowledge in one or more of the following technology areas: Scala, Python, Java, Kubernetes, SQL, Spark and stored procedures
Experience in Software migration, debugging and performance optimization
Preferred second European language, such as German, French, Spanish, Italian
