A Brief OverviewThe Workday Payroll Administrator provides strategic and operational support of payroll applications. This role is responsible for increasing operational efficiencies and controls through the utilization and optimization of technology
What you will doPartner with Payroll, Finance, and Workforce Management teams to understand the business strategy and recommend technical solutions to achieve business objectives.Provides functional system administration of payroll applications throughout the software lifecycle, including software releases, application configuration, integration design, security administration, testing, and reporting.Production Support: Provides support for various Payroll systems and integrations including, but not limited to, researching and resolving problems with Workday and/ or issues with business processes plus recommendations of alternate solutions. Triage point for system issues to ensure appropriate parties are involved to resolve issue.Functional Support: Leads and supports Payroll regarding enhancements, inquiries, errors and data issues. Assists team members and system users with issues associated with the payroll systems by investigating problems and resolving or providing detailed recommendations on resolutions. Collaborates with IS on all Payroll related integrations including the management of current integrations as well as the development and implementation of future integrations.Process Improvement: Identifies and understands issues, problems and opportunities. Recommends process improvements and innovative or alternative solutions. Provides advice and options on the best way to automate processes in the system.Reporting: Creates, modifies and supports a variety of standard and advanced reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Prepares regularly scheduled reports and ad-hoc reporting as required. Provides payroll team with reporting writing guidance, instructions or documentation. Ensures accuracy of data through routine data audits and validation. Provides advanced experience with the building, maintenance and documentation of calculated fieldsManage System Updates: Responsible for evaluating system upgrades and modifications, including identifying requirements, configuration, testing, and deployment (including change and release management), and communication. Monitors Brainstorms on Workday Community and communicates the information with Payroll. Coordinates the Enterprise brainstorm creation. Provides system mass update support via EIBs.
Education QualificationsBachelor's Degree RequiredMaster's Degree Business or Healthcare related field Preferred
Experience QualificationsAt least five (5) years functional system administration experience RequiredAt least seven (7) years within a healthcare environment PreferredSkills and AbilitiesFunctional syste administration experience with payroll and absence management solutions (preferably Workday)Working knowledge of workforce management solutions, preferably UKG (Kronos) Time TrackingFundamental knowledge and integration support of ancillary payroll systems and service providers including but not limited to ADP, CIC+, Windstar, and Melissa Data ServiceFundamental knowledge of payroll and payroll tax regulations and complianceExcellent communication and teamwork skillsCritical thinking problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office productsDocumentation skillsDemonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaborativelyKnowledge of ERP systems and specialized systems as appropriate (Payroll = Kronos, Windstar, BSI), Accounts Payable (OnBase, Concur), Accounting (Banking), and Research systems.
