The Sr. Controls Engineer Leads the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. These applications are sophisticated, requiring cross-disciplinary integration and wide application of concepts.
Job DescriptionThe Sr. Controls Engineer will...Designs and recommends the control system architecture, products, components, and applications used in manufacturing processes; identifies and resolves system integration and interface issues.Works with Fanuc and Siemens CNC machines; Troubleshooting and programming Fanuc robots.Using Hirschmann managed switches and Ethernet/IP topology.Evaluates new and emerging manufacturing and control technologies, adapting into specifications as appropriate.Design, development, component selection, evaluation, and installation of machine controls hardware.Confirms control system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing and/or implementing test procedures.Prepares and/or reviews electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers.Provides information to manufacturing, process, and other engineering groups by answering questions and requests.Keeps equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
