About Senior Community Program Specialist

  The Collaborative: A Healing Centered Community at University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB)has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, caring, and team-oriented Contingent Category II Senior Community Program Specialist. This a FULL-TIME, CONTRACTUAL position. The candidate willapplyspecialized andtheoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts of a professional discipline normallyacquiredthrough advanced education or specialized training.Resolvesissues and significant matters on behalf of managementbyutilizingindependent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking. Contributes to development and evaluation of goals andobjectives. Creates solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance. May supervise, mentor, or coordinate work of others (positions that superviseare responsible forservicedelivery,quality assurance, and employee performance). May independently manage or administer programs, processes, projects, orresources.Applies in-depth, seniorlevelknowledge, concepts, principles, and skills. Wide latitude in decision making to interpret unclear or inadequate guidelines. Supervisor and employee collaborate to develop goals andobjectives. Confers with supervisor only on controversial orfar reachingmatters. Proactively resolves broad and unique matters requiring sophisticated analysis and interpretation. Acts as resource toothers. Contingent Category II employees receive a generous leave package that includes 10 vacation days, 9 holidays, 5 sick days, 3 personal days and comprehensive health insurance; professional learning and development programs; Contingent Category II employees are eligible for tuition remission for the employee only and the tuition remission only applies to courses taken at UMB.  Tuition remission for Contingent Category II employees who are part-time will be proratedin accordance withtheir FTE; and flexible work schedules and teleworking options (ifapplicable per job).     /UMB is Ranked Among the Best Employers for Diversity by Forbes 2022 & 2023./ PRIMARY DUTIES * Responsible for all aspects of coordination of community internaland orexternal programsbymonitoring progress and operations program components and ensure the highestqualityprogrammingforallparticipants.Providesolutionstoissuesandjudgment outside of pre-established guidelines orprocesses. * Incollaborationwithprogrammaticleadership,plan,develop,administerandcoordinate new or revised goals andobjectivesfor programs. Lead program development and implementationthatrequiresignificantassessment,evaluation,andinterventionutilizingbest practice/promising practicemodels. * Maintain and foster relationships with groups, individuals, orfamiliespartners to create network of supportive services needed for program users to be successful. Develop and implement recruiting plans for program groups,individual, and/or families. Ensure compliance with work plan and deliverables. * Develop andfacilitateworkshops,meetingsor conferences; coordinatelogistics, scheduling, and participant communications. Work closely with partners to develop and provide appropriatetrainings, workshops, field trips, and recognition events for participants. Coordinatelogistics, scheduling, communications, and participation. * Manageprogramworkplansinaccordancewithspecificationsandfundinglimitationsin ordertoshapetheprogram.Overseedailyoperations;organizeprogramactivities;andset priorities. * Maintain andfacilitateprogram data incompliance andwith programmatic reports required by sponsors. Make recommendations to management in use of funds to ensure compliance and prepare for regular program audits by sponsors. Collect, complete, andsubmitprogram information in required formats for various reporting including internal quarterly program updates and sponsorsreports. * Provide routine and non-routine technical advice, problem solvingassistance, and answer questions. Interpret program goals andpolicies, andprovide administrative support to the program team. * Lead the development and preparation of written products such as training materials, website content, final progress reports, pre- and post- award reportsregardingfunding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors, and promotional materials. * Recommend resources for the improvement of theprogram. * Assistin evaluating program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devise evaluationmethodologyand implements; analyze results and recommend and/or takeappropriate action.Has the authority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement policies or procedures to ensure effective operation of the program. * Usingstateofthearttechnology,usesophisticatedsearchingtechniquestoconductin depthresearchforprogram'scomplexanduniqueinformationrequests.Developandmaintaininternet web site filesand/orlistings. * Interact andmaintainliaison/partnership with students, faculty,staffand agencies infacilitatingprogramobjectives. Serve as a primary contact andthinkscritically about all aspects of the program to resolve questions and make decisions related to the program. * Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * *Education:Bachelor's degree. Degree in social sciences, such as social work or psychology preferred. Master's degree may berequiredbased on associated licensure. Experience:Three(3) years of community program coordination, development, oversight, or administration. Supervisory Experience:N/A. Certification/Licensure:Licensurerequiredbased on the need of the program. Other:Related experience to program may be substituted for education.Ability to work evenings andweekendsas necessary. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems.
