　　APTIM, a leading engineering firm with a global presence and a thriving Coastal Engineering practice, is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Senior Coastal Engineer for government clients in our Boca Raton, or Tampa, FL office. The APTIM team is multidisciplinary with coastal engineering, restoration, and coastal and marine science services specializing in all aspects of beach nourishment, shoreline protection projects, coastal and marine mapping, and coastal resiliency and sea-level rise work. APTIM's engineers, biologists, geologists, surveyors, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialists work with both government and private clients on a wide range of environmental and coastal issues.

　　APTIM is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and personable senior coastal engineer with experience in beach renourishment, inlet management studies, coastal structures, living shorelines, and coastal resiliency. This position will assist in the project management of coastal engineering services, provide leadership in the development of the business, and assist in the management and mentoring of existing coastal engineering staff. 　　Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

　　The candidate selected will report to the Director of Coastal Restoration and have the opportunity to manage a diverse coastal engineering team and challenging restoration projects in Florida and along the US Gulf and East Coast

　　Strong quantitative skillsets to support coastal/waterfront projects

　　Lead project teams in conducting the design process for engineering projects from conceptual design to detailed final designs

　　Independently conduct engineering analyses and apply coastal engineering tools for the design and formulation of resilient coastal protection projects

　　Perform project management activities in a lead role being responsible for scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, sub-consultants and client

　　Prepare standard contract documents, such as technical specifications, engineering reports, regulatory applications and other technical documents

　　Participate in business development and marketing activities and write proposals targeting various coastal engineering opportunities in the region

　　Contributing to and providing presentations for conferences and technical organizations

　　Coordinate work with other coastal engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline and with support services staff

　　Conduct field work including site inspections, surveys, and construction observations

　　Collaborate on building innovative tools and products

　　Interpret contract documents and perform contract administration.

　　Manage individual tasks and small projects while also working collaboratively as part of a team for larger or multi-disciplinary projects

　　Independently manage multiple project schedules and deliverables

　　Establish client relationships and provide personalized service throughout project implementation

　　Basic Qualifications:

　　15+ years of coastal engineering experience

　　Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering required

　　Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Florida or the ability to be licensed within 90 days of hire

　　In depth understanding of the coastal and marine environment in Florida

　　Working knowledge of coastal numerical modeling software preferred

　　Demonstrated ability to work with diverse data sets (preferred candidate will have some experience in any of the following: CAD, GIS, Matlab coding)

　　Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in designing projects

　　Demonstrated environmental permitting experience in any state (FL preferred)

　　Demonstrated history of technical leadership, mentoring, and independent success

　　Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environment

　　Demonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written English

　　Have a passion for working in a consulting firm environment on various types of projects

　　Experience with preparation of proposals, selection presentations and business development

　　Willingness to travel in support of business and project activities

　　Preferred office location is Boca Raton or Tampa, FL
