YOUR ROLESenior Civil Engineer - Land Development is a role that manages complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines, working closely with land development leaders to provide engineering solutions in all aspects involving both residential and commercial land and site development projects, grading projects, roadways, pedestrian systems, water and sanitary sewer systems, and storm water management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage small to mid-size projects, client and contractor agreements and budgetsWrite and prepare technical engineering reports, plans and specifications for projectsConsult with clients to plan and develop strategies for their civil engineering design and support needsAnalyze reports, maps, drawings, and tests to plan and design projectsEvaluate designs to determine project feasibility, estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, and labor requirementsAssist with construction inspection of project sites to monitor progress and ensure design specifications are metEngineering design for site-civil infrastructure elementsMentor less experienced engineers as neededEngage with public agencies to provide support, permitting, and approval of project needs.Read and interpret construction plans to assist with client management and effectively communicate to answer inquiries from colleagues, clients, contractors, or the public.Physical Demands

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar fieldProfessional Engineering Registration (PE) for the state of ND or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.8+ years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering; Land Development is highly preferred.You have strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD and other related programs.You have successfully worked in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills.Ability to advocate for Civil Engineering field and enjoy sharing knowledge, giving presentations, and encouraging students to explore it as a career.A BIT MORE INFORMATION

Location

This position is based in our Minot, ND office; however occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required on an occasional basis.

Salary and Benefit Information

This is a full-time exempt position with a pay range of $80,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a full benefits package. As an additional benefit, Ackerman-Estvold compensates salaried individuals for overtime at the base rate for hours worked over 40 in a week.
