We are building a world-class Procurement organization of trusted advisorsthat deliver valueand foster innovation to fuel Maxar's missions. We arelooking for a Senior Category Specialist to join our team in Westminster,CO. This person will bring strong sourcing, category management, andcontracting experience and is passionate about delivering results. The MaxarCorporate Procurement team has 2 Category Management pillars, and this rolewill support IT Procurement. In this role, you will manage, negotiate,and lead sourcing efforts for goods and services across the business.
Responsibilities:Lead sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier management, and portfoliomanagement events across multiple categoriesDevelop procurement strategies and category plans that deliver significantvalue to stakeholdersProactively manage categories to optimize results - including spendanalytics, supplier performance and stakeholder managementAnalyze data and metrics to drive value and deliver savingsCoordinate and perform contract reviews alongside Legal and business partnersDevelop relationships with team members and stakeholders across MaxarPotential for broad exposure to multiple indirect/corporate categoriesincluding Facilities, Marketing, Professional Services, TalentAcquisition, IT and HRParticipate in supporting Category Manager with special projects and ad hocrequestsOther duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:Must be a US Citizen or permanent residentMinimum of 5 years related experience in contract negotiations, sourcing,category management, supplier management, spend analytics and/or marketintelligenceBachelor's degree in business or a related technical field or fouradditional years of experience may be substituted for a degreeProficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledgeable of procurement and contracting, project management, andsupplier management processesExperience leading large and complex sourcing events and contract negotiations(in excess of $500K)Prior knowledge of indirect corporate categories is beneficialCritical business skills should include financial, cost and totalcost-of-ownership analysis and intervention and risk assessmentFamiliar with e-procurement tools - sourcing, contract management, spendanalytics, risk management, and transactional P2P applications#LI-MG1
Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility.Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set ofknowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potentialcommensurate with experience. The range for this position is:$71,000.00- $119,000.00 annually.
