POSITION SUMMARY
Sales executive is responsible for proactively soliciting and handling all revenue-related opportunities in the transient as well as group/F&B segments whenever needed. Actively upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and in timely fashion for proper service delivery. Ensures compliance with Marriott Operating Standards to maintain brand integrity
Duties & Responsibilities:
Builds the department top line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set forth by the Director of Sales. Identifies revenue opportunities for the hotel based on the event profile.
Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals. Effectively manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs, and identify opportunities to up-sell products and services throughout the sales process.
Understands the overall market in which they sell - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.
Conducts site inspections for transient segment, supporting with other segments whenever needed.
Ensure site inspections are conducted in a methodical fashion adhering to the core standards of the department.
Develops and maintains relationships with key clients and establishes a client base through continues direct sales efforts.
Responds promptly (within 24 hours) to incoming inquiries within their market segment and follows up to ensure utmost guest satisfaction.
Handle guest concerns and obstacles.
Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Works collaboratively with GSOs, Convention Bureau, 3rd party intermediaries and other hotel counterparts to drive revenue, ensure customer satisfaction and increase market share.
Reporting of sales trips, sales actions and sales intensity plan weekly basis to Director of Sales.
Conducts transient related website and makes sure all information is updated at all times.
Comprehends budgets as needed to assist in the financial management of department. Understands the impact of department's role in the overall hotel financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Promote the use MI Leads (cross-selling tool).
Acquire full knowledgeable understanding of the Marriott Loyalty program.
Excels at proactive selling. Targets key accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation. Proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals. Focuses on accounts with larger potential sales revenue.
Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
Creates sales contracts as required.
Participate in trainings and other sales-related meetings as required.
Participate as a team player with all departments.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
College Degree preferred
Experience: Previous Sales experience in the hospitality industry preferred; experience selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred
Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written. Additional languages will be valuable.
EU Working permit required.
