Description
The Senior Platform Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of complex infrastructure operating platforms and solutions while providing technical expertise to clients and internal teams. This position will lead the deployment and management of the systems and platforms. The Senior Platform Engineer will lead the collaboration with cross-functional teams to deploy enterprise and software solutions based on Burns & McDonnell’s core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service.
Lead the design and development of complex infrastructure and network solutions.
Lead the development and deployment of automation scripts to optimize infrastructure management.
Lead cross-functional teams to design and deploy enterprise and software solutions.
Lead the security and compliance of all assigned infrastructure solution systems and network infrastructure.
Manage and resolve complex technical issues, including system outages.
Lead the development and deployment of assigned new applications.
Lead the development and deployment of infrastructure and network systems.
Lead the response to security incidents and provide remediation guidance.
Lead the development and deployment of test software applications.
Lead the development and deployment of security systems and policies to protect the organization’s information and systems from unauthorized access, theft, and damage.
Lead the analysis and reporting of security alerts, assess security threats, and respond to security incidents to prevent data breaches and other security incidents.
Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the practice.
Mentor and guide less experienced staff.
Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
Responsible for compliance with company safety policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in technology, business, or a related field from an accredited program is required.
Applicable years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure and network systems design, deployment and management, system engineering, or related experience.
Expert knowledge in cloud technologies, automation scripts and infrastructure management.
Expert knowledge of security systems and policies and experience in vulnerability management and remediation.
Expert knowledge in Python and React software development.
Advance computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead projects and delegate work tasks to team members. Ability to oversee the execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to work methodically and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building and collaboration.
