SCOT's Regional team in Japan is seeking highly motivated individuals with exceptional data analytics skills and a passion for tackling intricate challenges related to inventory placement. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to inform impactful business decisions that will enhance customer experience and contribute to long-term free cash flow growth. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of Amazon's systems and supply chain processes through collaboration with diverse teams across product, retail categories, finance, and operations.
As part of the team you’ll work across systems in Inventory Placement. Inventory Placement's mission is to optimize placement decisions worldwide. You will be directly responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our system decisions, through quantitative analysis, deep dives, and partnership with your counterparts in Product Management and Software Development.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of professional or military experience
5+ years of SQL experience
Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
Experience in data mining/analysis, and working extensively in large scale databases and data warehouses (3+ years)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.
Bachelors degree in mathematical, statistical, analytical, supply chain or data oriented field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
MBA or advanced degree in mathematical, statistical, or data oriented field.
Experience in E-commerce and / or Supply chain management
Familiarity with the design and operation of complex planning systems and processes
Ability to communicate in Japanese (preferred not mandatory)
