Core Responsibilities

As a Senior BI Engineer in the Data Office organization, you will become part of a team of great individuals who strive to build and improve a high-quality data foundation on The LEGO Group’s Data Platforms. You will be joining one of our BI Engineering product teams and in close collaboration with data owners and data specialists across the company you will secure data intelligence is enabled for end-users of your product team.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

Design, build and/or configure Data Foundation solutions, through close collaboration with the other product team members.

Ensure implementation of business logic and business definitions in close collaboration with business partners. Secure product robustness and reliability in the trusted Data Foundation we are providing.

Engineer the Data Foundation product to follow the highest development standards (incl. documentation and efficiency) and secure the highest standards of security and data privacy are followed.

Build efficient and optimal solutions by challenging ideas/opinions and secure excellent quality is delivered to the users by securing proper unit and integration testing before deployment.

Suggest and define future stories to support the Product Owner

Your role as a Senior BI Engineer will be to consistent meaningful improvements of the Data Foundation, championing best practices in the Data Foundation technologies. You will play a big part in supporting our business organization in moving solutions into our new data platform on AWS. Supporting with implementing the knowledge that has been built on the current SAP BW/HANA platform into a self-service set-up on the AWS platform.

At the same time you will be responsible to keeping the lights on our current SAP BW/HANA platform.

In this position, you'll play an essential role in guiding our organization's shift towards being driven by engineering and architecture. Collaborating with BI and data engineers, you'll deliver solutions with sound architecture, enabling the company's transition towards a data-driven approach.

Do you have what it takes?

You come with relevant hands-on experience delivering SAP-BW/HANA Data Foundation solutions, preferably in a business-facing role. You have experience in performing data analysis and data profiling using complex SQL on various source systems. In addition, you have:

Deep understanding of vendor-provided solutions and configuration practices (SAP BW/HANA)

Passion curiosity to learn and understand new technologies/ and strives towards cross-functional collaboration

Experience in Agile development/configuration, full-stack development (or similar) experience preferred

Flexibility for some travelling required (5%)

It will be an advantage if you have experience:

The following BW reporting modules: Sales Distribution, Finance, Material Management, Supply Chain Planning, Production Maintenance.

Data tool integration experience (e.g. Power BI, API, SDI/SDA, Data Service)

SQL Databricks

Cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
