  The Opportunity and Role:

  Capital One's Community Finance team originates debt and equity to support affordable housing development. Community Finance provides debt financing, and invests in low income housing credits through proprietary and multi equity funds. An analyst on the Capital & Originations Team is core to organizational success as it drives excellence in operational execution and delivery. Analysts contribute significantly to a well-managed organization, while also driving innovation, reimagining the status quo, and enhancing the customer experience.

  As an Associate on the Capital & Operations Team at Capital One, you will be part of a smart, talented team responsible for ensuring a well-managed environment for all processes supported by the Screening and Capital Officer team. The Analyst will be an integrative thinker who is motivated to drive change, has exceptional attention to detail, and consistently innovates while delivering results. They will be able to review and analyze complex documents and offer solutions to issues that arise. Additionally, they will be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the company and have an ability to influence others.

  In this role you will be working on a team that is truly changing banking for good, driving operational excellence for Capital One's affordable housing portfolio. You will have the opportunity to help guide the Community Finance team toward its vision of "Building inclusive, thriving, resident-centered communities that catalyze opportunity and promote well-being" by supporting Community Finance's Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and debt pipeline management to help achieve Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and internal profitability goals. As part of the C&O Team, you will have the opportunity to partner with other team members on driving strategic business direction that leads to sustainable performance and you will be asked to challenge our current well-managed processes to be more proactive, effective, and efficient.

  Responsibilities

  Effectively articulating outcomes of analysis and relevant insightsDevelop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior audiences.Assist in the daily activities related to Community Finance's pipeline management to help achieve CRA and internal profitability needs.Support initial screening and evaluation of LIHTC investment and lending opportunities.Running in-house financial analysis, including initial feasibility analyses as well as updates as the deal progresses.Under the guidance/direction of People Leader or other designee, prepare presentation of deal information including projections, deal summary, market information, sponsor review including financial strength and relevant deal terms and risks/mitigants.Ensure internal record keeping and systems are kept current and maintained.Assist with the management of properties and relationships for the compliance period, including working with underwriting, innovation and analytics, credit, portfolio management and other internal and external stakeholders.Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.Develop and maintain extensive knowledge about real estate underwriting and LIHTC.Perform ad hoc analysis/reports.Participate in and contribute to group meetings and discussions.Proactively identify areas to improve processes. identify solutions and proactively drive the solutions.

  Basic Qualifications:

  High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificationAt least 3 years in project management, finance, accounting, business analysis, or any combination of the four

  Preferred Qualifications:

  At least 3 years of experience in real estate developmentAt least 2 years of Community Finance client management, underwriting or asset management.Completion of credit training program (or equivalent work experience)

  The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

  New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $99,500 - $113,600 for Sr. Associate, Community Finance

  Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

  This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
