ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may beassigned. Patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds of campus.Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.Assures that all employees, residents, and visitors follow establishedpolicies and procedures. Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertainif tampering has occurred. Watches for and reports irregularities suchas fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case offire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons toenter property. Responds to resident call bells. Records data such asproperty damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery orequipment in security log for each shift. In an emergency, may performsimple maintenance duties. Keeps entry ways and main sidewalks free ofice and snow and calls grounds contractor as necessary. Complies withsafety procedures, infection control and standard precautions. Complieswith confidentiality and residents\' rights. Complies with all CARF/CCACguidelines and standards. Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect forand attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact(persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders)that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.
