We are hiring a Full-time Security Officer for Smithfield Foods at 1803 Maury Street in Des Moines, IA. You will maintain the facility's security by checking in visitors, vendors, and contractors. This includes issuing access badges and performing regular foot patrols throughout the property. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and security.

Job Details:

• Pay Rate: $18.50 / hour

• Schedule: Evening Shift Available / 4:00 pm – 12:00 am

• Duties: Foot Patrol and Access Control.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior security experience is preferred but not required, and/or a customer service background is required.

• Skills: Comfortable using technology devices

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, and work in all-weather elements.

Responsibilities:

Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner

Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
